Publisher survey: What books do you want to read?

Hat tip to Raddiah Hubbert for this!

Grand Central Publishing is conducting a survey about African American books and authors. For all of you who have commented and emailed, here's your chance to be heard, by at least one publisher. Let 'em know what you like and what you don't like. What do you wish you could read, but can't find? Who are your favorite authors? Make your voices heard!

  1. At last, a chance to tell publishers that we need more sf and fantasy by black writers.

(I read A Hundred Thousand Kingdoms after you recommended it. Thanks—I really enjoyed it!)

  2. Being around books so much, I can't answer the questions like a customer. But I will answer.

  3. Shauna, The 2nd book in the trilogy BROKEN KINGDOMS is out.

Doret, I think hearing from a bookseller could be very valuable for publisher.

  4. You know, there are just so many I could recommend. I am just very happy to see that white people are interested in black authors. I would not pigeon-hole them in what to read in particular. I am just so glad to see that there is an interest out there!

Thank you for joining the conversation! All opinions are appreciated. You're welcome to disagree with me, but please be respectful and watch your language. Racist, sexist and just plain mean comments will be deleted. Comments don't necessarily reflect the views of Carleen Brice. Now, let's hear what you got and then go read something!
