Talking women writers of color

Today! At 1 pm Eastern join Kamy Wycoff, founder of SheWrites.com and me as we discuss women writers of color. I'll tell the truth about some of the extra hurdles we face, but I also want to focus on some of the books by women writers of color that I love. Call in at 347-884-9779 and tell us about some writers we need to be reading. Click here to listen.

If you haven't yet read Bernice McFadden's essay in Saturday's Washington Post, check it out. We'll be discussing it too.

If you're a woman writer, SheWrites is having meet-ups in 17 different cities tomorrow to celebrate it's one year anniversary. See if there's one near you.

  1. Once again, I believe that that all the fiction books should be in the same section - Carleen you are right when you say separate is not equal. What goes for the schools should certainly apply to the book stores. Segregating the books is taking a step backwards! Barbara Albin

Thank you for joining the conversation! All opinions are appreciated. You're welcome to disagree with me, but please be respectful and watch your language. Racist, sexist and just plain mean comments will be deleted. Comments don't necessarily reflect the views of Carleen Brice. Now, let's hear what you got and then go read something!
