Diversity in YA Fiction

Writer Unboxed has a great post up today about writing about cultures other than your own from Cindy Pon and Shveta Thakrar, who host the Diversity in YA Fiction website and book tour. Love the idea for taking their show on the road! Maybe we should do a White Readers Meet Black Authors road show.... Hmmmm.

I love that idea of taking it on the road. And I love what those two YA authors are doing. Good for them!

Well if you do take it on the road, stop by the DMV area.

Hi, Carleen! I'm so glad you liked the post, and I hope people find it useful.

I just had to correct one thing: Much as I'd love to take credit for the Diversity in YA Tour, that's actually the brainchild of Cindy and her good friend Malinda Lo, author of Ash. :)

Thank you Shveta for setting me straight. I hope you'll keep me in the loop about all your activities!

Great article! For those looking for an African-American Book Publisher, I would check out Lee and Low books. I recommend them to all my friends.
